Meet Alyes Chen

Specific Experience
Alyes is a doctoral candidate at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, participating in the neuropsychology and school psychology concentrations. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master of Arts in Clinical Psychology for Widener University.
Education and Experience
Education
Alyes earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in English from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Widener University. During her time at Widener University, Alyes has obtained her school psychology certification and is working to complete a certification in neuropsychology. She also received the Jules Abrams Award in recognition of strong academic achievement and cultivation of academic values.
Experience
While working on her undergraduate degree, Alyes was part of a research lab that investigated social cognition in schizophrenia as well as psychosocial treatments for schizophrenia. Before entering graduate school, Alyes worked for a as a psychometrist, administering neuropsychological tests to both children and adults. This furthered her interest in a career in neuropsychology. She joins our practice after working in a middle school and at a rehabilitation hospital with youth; two placements which have provided her excellent experience to address the neuropsychological and educational needs of the youth seen at BBN.
Focus of Work
Although experienced in working with adults, Alyes is focused on working with youth who present with a variety of different neuropsychological presentations. Her background positions her to help youth and their families navigate a school setting.
