Executive Functioning Coaching

IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!

We are excited to offer executive functioning (EF) coaching for students from middle school through college, starting in September 2025. We have four outstanding coaches who bring a wealth of different experiences to the program, including teaching, neuropsychology, and developing executive functioning programs for neurodiverse students.

Coaching sessions will take place in person at our office. The first session will concentrate on setting goals. Even for students who are 18 or older, we request that their parent(s) attend. During this session, both the parent and student will complete a survey of executive skills to identify strengths and weaknesses. We will compare these results with your observations of daily functioning and with the results of a quantitative measure completed before the session. The purpose of this exercise is to develop specific, measurable goals. Subsequent sessions will focus on working toward these goals. In this initial session, we will also determine the frequency of meetings (weekly or biweekly) and the method and timing for clients to provide updates between sessions.

Subsequent sessions will follow a format of reviewing the objectives set in the prior session for the client to complete over the course of the week, tracking progress towards their goal, reviewing any due assignments (including late/missing assignments), and utilizing evidence-based exercises to build skills in line with the established goals.

Since this is a new venture, we are taking a thoughtful approach and working with a limited number of clients. This allows us to dedicate the necessary time to each client’s needs and adjust the programming as needed. As a result, we are starting with an introductory rate of $175 per 50-minute session. (Rates will be reassessed in November for a January start.) The fee includes the coach’s preparation for each session, the session itself, follow-up work such as documentation, and any time spent with the client providing updates during the week. If a client opts for a bi-weekly schedule and requires update time during the “off” week, or if additional time is needed for other reasons, a rate of $40 per 15 minutes can be arranged.

Before we begin, we ask clients to sign an agreement that outlines what they can expect from us and the limitations of coaching, including that it does not constitute therapy or tutoring. Although there is no commitment, meaning you can stop at any time, it typically takes several weeks before you notice any change. If you are interested in our service, please click the 'Schedule Consultation’ button, and Dr. Katie will have a conversation to determine if we are the right fit for you or your child.
