Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostic Evaluation

Autism_Spectrum_Disorder.png
  • This is a targeted evaluation designed to determine if a youth has autism spectrum disorder as well as to provide information about their social abilities. Because this evaluation is confined in scope, overall conceptualization, recommendations, and the ability to rule-out other conditions can be limited.

For broader referral questions that include a question of autism, the autism assessment battery can be added to a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation.

  • I will happily work with older adolescent up to the age of 21 provided they will consent to a parent participating in the process as developmental history is very important.

  • Testing time varies dependent upon the youth’s needs and age; 4 hours is a starting approximation. Testing takes place over the course of one day.

In-person testing can vary by age and by the presentation / needs of the youth, but usually includes a measure of cognitive functioning or IQ, pragmatic skills, and either the ADOS-2 or MIGDAS (again depended on the youth’s needs). Interviews along with rating forms are essential to this evaluation.

  • The fee for this evaluation is $1,800. This fee includes all aspects of the evaluation; the parent interview, record review, in-person testing including youth interview, collateral interviews (1 hour included), rating forms comparing the youth’s behavior to other peers their age, report, and feedback to parent along with possible feedback to the youth.

Additional services of school observations, consultation with school, etc. can be included for an additional fee.

Payment is due at the first in-person testing session.
